Albania’s olive and olive oil industry took center stage at the conference ” Olive and Olive Oil Quality in Albania”, held within the framework of the International Fair “Agrotech Expo 2023” in Tirana, with the support of RisiAlbania. The event emphasized Albania’s potential to become a competitive player in the production and export of olive oil on international markets, contingent upon the consolidation of its brand. In just the first eight months of this year, exports reached a staggering value of 25 million euros, exhibiting an annual growth nearly seven times higher than the same period the previous year.

With a rich tradition in olive cultivation and oil production, the renewed attention and investments in the sector are making the expansion into new markets increasingly feasible. This was the focal point of the conference held at Expo City, where discussions centered on recent export achievements, challenges, solutions, and the primary goals stakeholders have set for this vital product. RisiAlbania’s support for the olive oil sector stems from the high potential and the need to enter markets with high value.

Throughout this period, support has been extended through collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, AREB, QTTB, KASH, FED Invest, Tenius LAB, the Olive Oil Association, and olive oil exporters. The collaborative efforts underscore the commitment to elevating the Albanian olive and olive oil industry, capitalizing on its rich heritage and paving the way for sustained growth in both domestic and international markets.
